Differences between Series 50 SUPER SMOKERs and the AmeriQue
Many customers have called and asked me why the AmeriQue costs more than the SUPER SMOKER (Series 50), and what the different features are.
The AmeriQue has a digital lighted read-out, two types of cooking methods (cook-time method or probe method), 1000 watt heating element, wider grill space for a larger capacity, holding feature, only comes in stainless steel, and the thermostat goes from 100 to 300ºF.
The Series 50 SUPER SMOKERs have a thermostat control knob, smaller grill space, comes with rib hooks to hang your ribs, 1200 watt heating element, smaller capacity, the thermostat goes from 100 to 250ºF, and can be purchase with a carbon steel, powdered black cabinet or an all stainless steel cabinet.
The digital feature on the AmeriQue is great to look at and know exactly where you’re at in your cooking cycle or holding cycle. The 1000 watt heating element in the AmeriQue is enough for this unit, due to the fact that it covers more area in the smoker (it’s a wider element) whereas the SUPER SMOKER (Series 50), is a little taller than the AmeriQue, plus the elements are on the side of the woodbox, so it needs the 1200 watt element.
Both the SUPER SMOKER and the AmeriQue are great machines depending on your needs, but you can’t beat the convenience of the AmeriQue. I have really enjoyed my AmeriQue, and have proudly owned it for 4 years. So if you have questions on either unit, don't hesitate to give me a call at 1-800-423-0698. Karen
